visiting card of the University is "Suzirja" cultural art center.
"Suzirja" is a big family of creatively gifted students which numbers
over 20 different genres creative collectives and studios. They are national
songs and dance "Suzirja" ensemble, an orchestra of national instruments,
brass band, dixieland, ensemble of ballroom and modern dance.
All regions of Ukraine are represented in the concert program of the Ukrainian
"Suzirja" national songs and dance ensemble . In 1997 the songs
and dance "Suzirja" ensemble was given the honorary "national"
title for development and propagation of the Ukrainian art. "Suzirja"
is a spectrum of national songs and dances: beginning from lyrical female
ones and finishing with an enchanting spectacle of man's Cossack songs
and dances. Scenic compositions of the collective in which a national
dance organically incorporates to a national song are picturesque and
precise in their musical and vocal-choreographic form.
"Suzirja" has over 25 national, thematic, celebratory and entertaining
programs, it prepared more than 1000 concerts. It was applauded by inhabitants
of Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Vinnitsa, Rivne, Volynsk, Chernigiv, Chernivtsy, Cherkassk,
Khmelnitskiy areas. The ensemble had honor to represent Ukraine on the
XVII International festival of folklore in Canada, as well as on folklore
festivals in the USA, "Yalta – 2001" International
festival. Young asterisks were greeted by the spectators of Cyprus, Iran,
Turkey, Germany, Poland, and Spain.
The collective of the national instruments orchestra consists of 25 gifted
students. The structure of the national instruments orchestra includes
seven violins, three bayans, an accordion, two clarinets, a big flute
and a piccolo flute, a pipe, a bandura, cymbals, a pipe, a trombone, a
contrabass, percussion instruments. In the program of the collective there
are over 50 various picturesque musical works. The orchestra is the winner
of the international folklore festivals-competitions in Ukraine, Canada,
the USA, and Poland. In 2001 due to high mastery, highly artistic level
of repertory the orchestra of national instruments obtained an honorary
title of "national" and became an independent collective.
Brass band of the National state tax service University of Ukraine is a big
creative collective of professional performers with highly artistic repertoire
(above 40 persons). Brass band is a visit card of the State tax administration
of Ukraine. It accompanies all actions carried out both in the STA and
the National State Tax Service University of Ukraine at a high professional
level, according to protocol requirements. The orchestra collective acts
successfully in the National palace of culture of "Ukraine".
In 2001 the brass instruments band received an honorary title of "national"
for high art level and mastery.
On the base of the brass band one more independent, original collective –
Dixieland was founded. In 2001 the collective was appropriated the honorary
title of the "national" one. The Dixieland structure is classical,
it includes a pipe, a trombone, a clarinet, a saxophone, rhythm-section
(percussions, bass guitar, electro guitar). Repertoire of the collective
includes blues, jazz, rock-and-roll compositions, as well as compositions
on themes of the Ukrainian national songs. Due to various repertoire and
a plenty of dancing melodies Dixieland is a constant participant of cultural-entertaining
actions: New Year's "zests", parties, youth discos, thematic
evenings.
A true ornament of festivities and celebratory actions is drummers' ensemble
of the National STS University of Ukraine which totals over 30 participants.
Participants of this collective are students of different faculties of
the University, who possess defile, rhythm and choreography in perfection.
The ensemble repertoire includes not only celebratory defile with the
brass band, but modern Latin American and dancing compositions to vocal
items. The ensemble took part in ceremonial parade on the Square of Independence
on the occasion of the 10-th anniversary of the Ukrainian Independence.
In March, 2003 the drummers' ensemble together with the brass band represented
Ukraine on the XV International festival of arts held in the city of Kasteljone
de la Plana (Spain).
Director of the "Suzirja" center is Maria B. Dyka; the art director
and chorus master of the national songs and dance ensemble is the deserved
art worker of Ukraine Chupryna Nina Ivanivna, the main ballet master –
director is the deserved art worker of Ukraine Stanislav J. Fedorovich,
the musical leader is Volodymyr M. Korol, the ballet master is Volodymyr
B. Dykyj, the head of the national brass band and Dixieland is Victor
M. Dubovyj, the head of the modern dance ensemble – Chernushich
Svitlana Vasylivna, the head of the drummers' ensemble is Valery D. Pinchuk.
They have generated their own manner and originality of the Cultural –
art center in which the student's youth is spiritually enriched and harmoniously
developed.
Each new meeting creative collective of "Suzirja" is a holiday
of original Ukrainian culture.
