The research institute of financial law was founded in 2001 in the frame of the Ukrainian National state tax service university. It is subject to the State tax administration and the Academy of legal sciences of Ukraine. An overall objective of the Institute activity is to work out scientifically proved recommendations on realizing uniform state financial, budgetary and tax policy directed to economic and social development of Ukraine.

Primary goals of the Institute activity are as follows:
– Organization and carrying out of fundamental and applied researches in the field of financial and tax law;
– Fulfillment of the government bodies' orders on developing scientific bases of financial- egal policy;
– Carrying out scientific examination of draft laws and other normative-legal acts in the field of financial and tax law;
– Training of the research staff and increasing of their qualification, attracting of talented young scientists to scientific process and assisting to students' research creativity in the field of financial and tax law.

The head of the Institute is Oksana V. Soldatenko, Candidate of economic sciences, Associate Professor, author of 30 scientific and scientific-methodical works.

The structure of the research institute of financial law includes:
– Research laboratory ¹ 1 "Problems of normative-legal maintenance of financial relations";
– Research laboratory ¹ 2 "Problems of improving financial control";
– Research laboratory ¹ 3 "Problems of financial-legal responsibility";
– Research department of economic and mathematical modelling, analysis and forecasts;
– Research department of information and legal provision and studying of the international experience.
