The department of computer sciences and computer facilities was created in January, 1997. In 2003 division of the department of information systems and technologies into two chairs took place: the department of information systems and technologies and the department of administration of information resources.

The head of the department was appointed Volodymyr A. Odynets, Candidate of economic sciences, Associate Professor.
In 1973 he graduated from the department of physics-mathematics of Kyiv Gorky state pedagogical institute and in 1998 from economic department of Ukrainian institute of economics and finance.
In 2002 he defended dissertation “Economic problems of emergensy situations and the ways of overcoming the after-effects”.
He is the author of more than 20 works. He has a certificate as an expert in software product “1C Bookkeeping”.
He investigates the scientific problems of modernisation and informatisation of STS? social-economic problems of emergensy situations and minimising its negative after-effects, peculiarities of stable development and antirecessionary management.

There are 23 instructos and lecturers working at the department today, among them there are 7 candidates of sciences.

– "Automation equipped working place of a tax-collector";
– "Information systems and technologies in financial establishments";
– "Information systems and technologies of enterprises";
– “Information science”;
– "Automation of work in financial bodies";
– "Automated information technologies";
– "Administrative information systems of analysis and audit";
– "Automation of work in bodies of control-auditing service";
– “Practical work on use of operational databases”.

The studies are provided with modern software products.
The staff of the department carries out researching scientific problems of computerization of STS activity, educational process of the University, integration into the global information space. In particular, introduction in educational process of distance training technology, test control of knowledge, and methodical recommendations on accounting of tax bearers for STA of Ukraine, analysis of the tax information certainty, etc. are being developed.
