According to the Decision of the Cabinet of Ukraine of January, 10, 1996 the Ukrainian financial and economic institute was founded, and along with it both Accounting faculty and department of account and audit were created. Sukhanova Elja Trokhymivna became the first Dean of the faculty.
In 1997 the faculty began to train experts on the «Economy» speciality of the «Accounting and auditing» professional direction.
Now the Dean of the faculty is Matseljukh Natalia Petrivna, Candidate of economic sciences, Associate Professor.
In 1986 she graduated from the technological faculty of the Kyiv institute of the light industry technology, and in 1999 – a magistracy of the Kyiv national economic university on the "Financial management" speciality.
In 2003 Matseljukh N.P. defended the Candidate's thesis "Tax influence on pricing processes in Ukraine".
She is the author of 15 scientific works.

Today at the faculty 5 departments function.

Students’ training is carried out by the highly skilled faculty which consists of 9 doctors of sciences and 33 candidates of sciences. 218 persons are involved in the students’ scientific society.

Training of specialists at the Accounting faculty is conducted by «Accounting and auditing» speciality on the following specializations:

– Accounting and auditing in industry;
– Accounting and audit in the budgetary organizations and establishments;
– Accounting of payments and tax bearers;
– Control and audit.

Masters’ training is carried out by specializations:
– Accounting and auditing in the taxation sphere;
– Audit and state control over the taxation system.

After graduation from the Accounting faculty graduates can work in many spheres of economic activities, in particular, they can hold posts of tax inspectors, bookkeepers, controllers-auditors, chiefs of control-auditing departments, auditors.
