The department of auditing and economic analysis was created on the basis of the department of accounting and auditing in 2000. This is a graduating department, it carries out a professional training on specialities of “Accounting and auditing” (bachelor, specialist, master) and «Taxation» (bachelor, specialist).

The department carries out vocational training of students on specializations: «Tax control and auditing», «Control and auditing», “Auditing and state control in the system of taxation” (master).

Chugayev Anatoly Oleksiyovych, Doctor of economic sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Academy of economic sciences is the head of the department.
In 1991 he defended the thesis for the doctor's degree on the speciality of «Organization of management, planning and regulation of economy», since 1993 he is the Professor of the department of accounting and auditing in credit and budgetary institutions of Kyiv national economic university. His whole scientific and pedagogical experience is over 30 years.
Chugayev A.O. is the author of 83 research works, including 7 monographs and manuals.

The department provides teaching of 23 disciplines: «Auditing»; “Audit of efficiency”; “Organization and technique of auditing”; “Tax control”; “Tax control and auditing”; “Tax auditing”; “Tax control in the fields of economy”; «Auditing of big tax payers”; “Strategic analysis”; “Economic analysis”; “Economic analysis in the budgetary organizations and institutions”; “Economic analysis in sphere of taxation”; “Financial analysis”; “Theory of financial and economic control”; “Organization of the departmental and intraeconomic control”; “Control and auditing”; “Control and audit in the economy”; “Judicial accounting department”; “Judicial -accounting examination”; «Statistics»; “Statistics of finance”; “Legal statistics”; “Methods of economic and statistical researches”.

At the department 4 doctors and 18 candidates of economic sciences work. Teachers investigate the problems of tax control and auditing, financial and economic analysis, documentary checks and audits. The monograph “Analysis of tax revenues: problems of methodology” was published; its authors are: Doctor of judicial sciences Bilous V.T., Doctor of economic sciences Nikolayev V. P. , Doctor of economic sciences Chugayev A. O. The monograph consideres the opportunity of the tax mutual relations’ improvement on the basis of developing the methodology of analysis of interaction of tax system and economic environment, it deals with the use of modern approaches and methods of the analysis and planning of tax revenues to the budget.

At the department training of post-graduate students on the speciality of “Organization of management, planning and regulation of the economy” and “Book keeping, analysis and auditing”. The post-graduate students carry out researching the problems of functioning of the state monitoring systems in management of economy at different levels, they investigate forms, methods and economic levers of regulation of economic processes and their efficiency, modern problems of accounting and analysis, etc.

Graduates of the speciality «Accounting and auditing» successfully work on posts of inspectors of the state tax inspections, controllers - auditors in control-auditing departments, and also as bookkeepers at the enterprises of Ukraine.

Graduates of the «Taxation» speciality receive qualification of an inspector of tax inspection and can work on posts of a state tax inspector, a tax auditor -inspector.
