The department of financial investigations was founded in September, 2007. The Chief of the department is Chygryna Galyna Leonidivna, Candidate of legal sciences, Associate Professor, tax militia colonel. She is the author of over 40 publications of scientific and methodical character, of procedural criminal direction.
     In 1985 Chygryna G.L. graduated from the Kharkiv F.E. Dzerzhinsky legal institute (today it is the Yaroslav Mudry Academy) and obtained the speciality of a lawyer.
     In 2004 she defended the dissertation: "Sources of evidence in criminal cases on avoiding payment of taxes, duties and other obligatory payments".
     The department provides teaching of six educational disciplines of procedural criminal direction:
     • "Inquest and investigation";
     • "Evidence on the pre-trial investigation";
     • "Co-operating of investigator with operative subdivisions during investigation of tax crimes";
     • "Practical work on drafting judicial documents";
     • "Organization of working tax militia investigative forces";
     • "Features of disclosure and investigation of financial and tax crimes".
     At the department the following staff works:
     Nekrasov V.A., Candidate of legal sciences, Associate Professor, Professor of the department, tax militia lieutenant colonel, the author of over 50 works of scientific and methodical character, procedural criminal, investigation and search direction;
     Mulyavka D.G., Candidate of legal sciences, Associate Professor, Professor of the department, the author of about 40 papers of scientific and methodical character of procedural criminal, investigation and search direction;
     Poznyakov S.P., Candidate of legal sciences, Associate Professor, the author of about 30 works of scientific and methodical character and of procedural criminal, investigation and search direction.
     At the department the work of the scientific association of students and cadets is headed by the Associate Professor of the department Poznyakov S.P.
