Tax militia faculty

In structure of Ukrainian financial and economic institute of the STA of Ukraine the tax militia faculty – a uniform subdivision which has no analogues in Ukraine – was founded on July, 4, 1997 with the purpose of qualitative training of the tax service highly qualified specialists.

The first entrance examinations took place in August, 1997 (174 cadets were enlisted). The chief of the faculty was appointed the general – major of militia Bilous V.T. The teaching staff consisted of 8 persons.

To study at the tax militia faculty citizens of Ukraine among persons of commanding staff and employees of the state tax administration of Ukraine bodies, other persons who have full general secondary education, meet the requirements of legal acts of Ukraine which determine service in tax militia of the STA of Ukraine and are recommended for training by the STA main department of tax militia, by the STA tax militia department of the Crimea Autonomous republic, areas, cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, aged from 17 till 25 years are accepted. Since September, 1, 2003 the correspondence faculty began to work on "Law-enforcement activity of tax militia" specialty.

The tax militia faculty is a military law-enforcement formation which has a fighting flag. Cadets are on the state maintenance. Course officers and teachers who carry out rather rigid control of their training and behavior work with cadets constantly. Much attention at the faculty is paid to education of cadets in patriotic spirit, love to the Motherland and the chosen trade, busy personal-educational work is carried out with them. Graduates are given the special rank of the tax militia lieutenant, and training is enlisted as service in the Armed forces of Ukraine. Term of training makes up 4 years.

Uozas AndrulisThe chief of the faculty is Uozas Andrulis, Colonel of tax militia.

Cadets of the faculty took part in two military parades on the occasion of Independence Day of Ukraine, having received a high estimation of the President of Ukraine.

During eight years of the faculty's activity 953 officers graduated from it. On courses of retraining and improvement of professional skills 3261 tax militia workers were trained.

Today 848 cadets study at the tax militia faculty on specialty of "Law-enforcement activity". In 2005 57 graduates obtained honoured diplomas from 278 people.

Among the tax militia faculty teaching staff there are 3 doctors of sciences, 22 docents and candidates of sciences. Teaching process at the faculty is carried out on the "Law-enforcement activity" specialty ( Operative-search activity and Criminal-procedural activity specializations). Except for the general legal disciplines, cadets study a number of special disciplines. In the curriculum of the perspective tax militia workers legal and financial bases of the tax service activity are combined. Each cadet receives qualification of a lawyer.

Much attention at the faculty is paid to physical training of cadets. Since the first year they study means of personal protection, technique of the hand-to-hand fight, special tactics, they learn to drive motor transport and to use the organic weapon. Simultaneously with creation of the faculty cadets' scientific society was founded as an independent association whose members participate actively in the research work. The purpose of its foundation is organizing the cadets' research work which is one of the major means of specialists' quality training improvement which, in its turn, assists deep studying of a program material, developing scientific thinking and creative approach to the solution of theoretical and practical problems of the future professional activity.

During the period of the faculty cadets' scientific society functioning 3 final and 2 interuniversity scientific – practical conferences were held in which scientists, specialists and representatives of the leading law-enforcement educational institutions of Ukraine took part.
