Acting Department head is Tarangul Lyudmila Leonidivna, Doctor of economic sciences, Professor.
In 1979 she graduated from the Ivan Franko Lviv state university.
In 1989 she defended the Candidate's thesis on the "Economy and social geography" speciality.
In 2004 she defended the Doctor's dissertation.
At the Department 11 doctors and 13 candidates of economic sciences work.
The Department is graduating, it trains specialists on specializations: "Public finances"; "Financial monitoring" and masters – "Public finances" and "Tax business".

At the Department scientific conferences for students and teachers are carried out annually.
During last two years 7 teachers successfully finished and defended their dissertations, 21 teacher is carrying out scientific research. The faculty developed and issued 15 manuals. At the Department the circle "Tax Collector" for the first year students operates. Meetings with practical workers and science officers are organized. Olympiads in subjects of financial direction and students' scientific conferences, competition on the best future officer of tax service are annually carried out.
