The department of financial markets and financial services was founded in 2007 as a profiling department in the field of knowledge 0305 "Economy and enterprise" by the direction of training 8.030508 "Finances and credit". Acting as the head of the department is Uninets-Khodakivska Valentyna Pavlivna, Candidate of economic sciences, Associate Professor.
     In 1991 she graduated from the Kyiv Taras Shevchenko state university on speciality of "Geography", specialization of "Country-specific studies and tourism".
     In 1996 Uninets-Khodakivska V.P. graduated from the Kyiv state economic university and got a master's degree of business administration on speciality of "Finance and credit", specialization of "Financial management".
     In 2001 she defended candidate's dissertation.
     Uninets-Khodakivska V.P. is an author of 6 textbooks and of over 40 research papers.
     The department trains specialists on the following specializations:
     "Bachelor": "Financial business" and "Insurance business";
     "Specialist": "Activity of financial institutions" and "Insurance management";
     "Master": "Management of financial market institutes activity" and "Management of risks and insurance management".
     The department provides teaching of such disciplines: investing; history and theory of financial mediation (introduction to speciality); international financial markets; pension business; pension insurance; project analysis; market of financial services; social security; insurance management; insurance services; insurance; trading in securities (practical work); management of the national debt; projects management; management of the reinsurance processes; financial engineering; financial market; financial integration and global problems of contemporaneity; financial providing of innovative activity; financial mediation.
     The department works on the research theme "Financial mechanism of the economy structural alteration in Ukraine".
     The staff of the department consists of 16 Associate Professors, 12 senior teachers, 12 assistants.
     In 2007-2008 organization of international scientific and practical conference "Budgetary-tax factors of activating financial markets development and financial mediation" is expected as well as participation in organization of international scientific and practical conference "Financial providing of the state economic development in the conditions of integration processes". The students' scientific association functions at the department. The process of involving students into scientific activity is constantly being conducted.
